Getting ready for a Zoom or Microsoft Teams call? Here’s how to bring an interpreter with you:
- Request an interpreter by following the VRI (Video Remote Interpreting) instructions in your Welcome Pack.
-
Copy the Zoom or Microsoft Teams link for your meeting.
This needs to be the full link that takes the interpreter directly into your specific Zoom or Microsoft Teams meeting. A link with meeting ID or any other details will not work. -
Once connected to the interpreter, let the interpreter know you have a meeting and paste the link into the chat box - see below:

💡 Tip: Before the meeting begins, have a quick chat with the interpreter. Let them know what the meeting is about and any context that might help — this makes the interpreting smoother and more effective.
