How do I receive callbacks with Convo?
With Convo, hearing people and organisations can call you back through a BSL interpreter.
How the callback works depends on whether you have your own Convo number (subscribed through ATW, DP or Self Funded) or are using Convo as a Guest User.
If you are a paid Convo subscriber:
As a paid Convo subscriber, you have your own Convo number. You can find your Convo number in the Convo Now app.
You can give this number to people and organisations that may need to call you, such as your:
- family and friends
- your employer or colleagues
- your GP or hospital
- your bank
- local shops and services
When they call your Convo number, a Convo interpreter will connect the call to you through Convo Now.
Set up call forwarding
You can also set up call forwarding from your mobile phone to your Convo number. This means you can continue giving people your usual mobile number. When they call you, the call can be forwarded to your Convo number so you can answer through a BSL interpreter. (Click here to learn more)
Will a callback use my minutes?
If someone calls your personal Convo number, the call will normally use minutes from your Convo package if they are not a Convo Partner.
If you are a Guest User (i.e do not have subscribed package with us)
You do not need a paid Convo subscription to receive a callback from a Convo Partner. The organisation can arrange a callback using Convo and cover the cost of the interpreting service.
This option is available when the organisation contacting you is a Convo Partner.
The organisation pays for the interpreting service, so there is no cost to you.
Think your minutes were deducted by mistake?
If you think a callback should have been paid for by a Convo Partner but minutes were taken from your account, please contact our Consumer Support Team at hello-uk@convo.io and tell us who called you, the date and approximate time of the call, and we can check it for you.
